چکیده

The genus Phalansterium, which contains three named species, was created by Cienkowski (1870) for Monas consociatum Fresenius 1858. Ph. digitatum Stein 1878 from freshwater and Ph. solitarium Sandon 1924 from soil were later been added to the genus. Hibberd (1983) considered it possible that Phalansterium consociatum and Ph. digitatum are conspecific. As defined by light microscopy, members of the genus Phalansterium are colourless flagellates with a single flagellum. The proximal part of the flagellum is surrounded by a collar like structure. The cells excrete mucilage, which results in the formation of well structured colonies in Ph. digitatum and Ph. conso ciatum, and in loose unstructured lumps of cells in Ph. solitarium. Because of the single flagellum and the collar like structure, members of Phalansterium were previously associated with the choanoflagellates (e.g. Grandori and Grandori, 1934; Starmach, 1985). Ph. Phylogenetic position of Multicilia marina and the evolution of Amoebozoa.

Recent molecular phylogenetic studies have led to the erection of the phylum Amoebozoa, uniting naked and testate lobose amoebae, the mycetozoan slime moulds and amitochondriate amoeboid protists (Archamoebae). Molecular data together with ultrastructural evidence have suggested a close relationship between Mycetozoa and Archamoebae, classified together in the Conosea, which was named after the...

Investigating the Development of Kerman’s Soil Structure and its Effect on the Collapsibility index

Kerman and its surrounding towns consist of a flat alluvial plain of fine silt and clay materials. In morphological aspects, these sediments have a very gentle slope with the main infrastructure of the city build on them. Generally, the structure of undisturbed soils is developed over time due to the influence of environmental factors. Geological factors in Kerman fine-grained alluviums have ca...

Effects of Different Rates of Selenium Fertilizer and Cow Manure on Selenium Uptake in Festuca arundinacea

One of the crucial elements for livestock and human nutrition is selenium and its deficiency or toxicity can harm human and livestock health. The present study is designed with the aim of studying the effect of different levels of selenium fertilizer (Selcote-Ultra) and cow manure on the uptake of selenium in tall fescue. For this purpose, a pot experiment with complete randomized block design ...

On the Validation of a Preliminary Model of Reading Strategy Using SEM: Evidence From Iranian ELT Postgraduate Students

The present study was an attempt to refine a qualitatively proposed model of ELT discipline-specific reading strategies to provide a better interpretation of qualitative findings. Hence, in line with the components of the previous model, that is, 6 factors and 32 categories, a 6-hypothetical factor and a 33-item questionnaire were considered in the design of the ELT discipline-specific question...

A study on the sub-structure and mechanical properties of friction stir processed AA 6061-T6 joints with ultra-fine grained structure

Ultra-fine grained (UFG) structure (~0.6 µm) was produced in the stir zone (SZ) of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy joints using friction stir processing (FSP) cooled by liquid nitrogen (N2). A new experimental set-up was used to simultaneously quench the lower and upper surfaces of the samples during the processing. In addition, FSPed joints, using a steel backing plate, were produced at room temperatur...
